Athleticism is a gene that can only be viewed with Forever Pro, however, you can estimate a horse's athleticism by keeping track of how much energy they use when racing and/or training.
Athleticism works hand in hand with energy. It determines how much energy horses use when training and racing as well as how quickly they regenerate energy at rollovers. Horses with high athleticism can race more often (usually monthly), while horses with low athleticism may only be able to race every-other month.
|Producer Quality is a hidden gene that determines a horse's likelihood of producing high potential foals. You cannot see producer quality, but only infer it based on the results. Producer quality applies to both mares and studs, but carries a far greater weight for studs. You can see producer quality through using certain items such as the Heir’s Crown and Family Jewels (which will improve it as well as reveal it). Select Sale studs who are legendary producers will come with their producer quality revealed.|
|Bloodline is a trait that has a very strong correlation to the racing talent (potential) of a horse. Some bloodlines of horses mesh extremely well with others, while others do not. If you strike gold with the bloodline, you'll usually end up with horses who have better stats and are strong racing prospects. If you breed two horses together that don't have compatible bloodlines, you may end up with foals with much lower potential than expected.|
Jump is hidden gene which determines how good your horse will be at steeplechase races. Steeplechase ability is very linear - if both a sire and dam had very high SC stats, most of their foals probably will as well. Because this gene is so straightforward, it is very easy to focus on breeding steeplechase horses if you know the steeplechase abilities of your breeding stock.
Jump Standard does give you the ability to see this hidden gene. It also improves it.
Another way to see this jump gene would be to buy stablewide jump genes, which will reveal the jump gene for all horses you own now as well as any you acquire after purchasing them.
Endurance is a hidden gene. It can potentially give a boost to stats to a horse transitioning to MA and/or SC if it is above a certain point.
Since all horses who transition to marathon gain prime, it would be a good strategy to transition your steeplechase prospect to marathon first, race in 5 marathon races so you immediately have maxed SC stats upon transition, and then transition to steeplechase immediately afterward.
